A whole LOT of PINK

Today we hosted a baby shower for Emily, really our only babysitter for the boys ever since Jack was born, she has been my right hand girl at SO many birthday parties I cannot count and she has been my sanity in the summer with helping with the boys.  We just adore her,  she is part of the family as is her hubby Ross.  The boys were in their wedding a couple of years ago.  They are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their sweet baby girl in May.

It all started with these invitations mailed out...designed with the help from my friend Makila, I think she did a great job and I love how they turned out!

We had MORE fun planning and preparing for the shower.  And for SURE there was a LOT OF PINK everywhere.

Drew rolled 92 diapers and rubberbanded them for me to make THIS diaper cake.  The top has a peony hat from my friend Sarah at Pip Squeak boutique.  Thanks Sarah it was PERFECT!

This is proof that I really love Emily, I am NOT a fan of making cutouts but made these onesie cookies for the shower.

We hung extra invitations, well the back view of them, across the window.

 Emily and her Mom Dena,

Erin, Emily, Shannon and me.  These girls helped throw the shower.  Thanks friends!

Some seriously CUTE gifts.

The project we have been working on for a few months.  Jack helping...

 ...and here it comes...

Drew helping too, (Drew and Jack SO wanted to help with the shower so they were there, Jack was late due to basketball)

..and it's a clothes line of baby girl clothes.  :)  How FUN do you think this was to shop for?

Max came home at the end and got a snuggle from Miss Emily too.

What a blessing to celebrate our dear Miss Emily and her sweet baby girl!

Below is the making of the GIFT from yesterday...

We started by collecting some sweet girl clothes in all sizes the past couple of months.  We "hung" them on the ribbon aka clothes line in order of size.  At the end we put them in a laundry basket, accordion style, covered them with a cute blanket and then we attached a tag, which you can see above in Drew's hands that said PULL HERE.  As you pull the clothesline...the clothes all come out...we started with the smallest sizes 0-3 mo and went up to 12 months).  Such a FUN idea.  Thanks Makila for the idea.

  1. this was so much fun to look at! It's been much too long since I've been to a baby shower and loved all the beautiful, yummy-looking desserts and decorations. That washcloth cake is so cute! And your gift idea is incredible - I've never seen that done before. It was so darling and a gift any mom-to-be would just love. Emily has been a blessing to you, but you to her as well! You've given her the best "education" about raising a family from being in the trenches with you.
