Instagram update

It has been so busy the past few weeks...I wanted to catch you up on what we did in between our visit to South Dakota and then a few off my phone from our last visit to the cabin for the summer.  We were home for 4.5 days between trips.  Then we headed to the cabin....Scott was out of town for work for a long trip and went to visit Ohio and his parents over the weekend.  So he wasn't with us for any of these...we also took Tommy's good friend Will with us to the cabin. So I was clearly still outnumbered.

One worn out boy from all of the travel.  Laying low watching a show

Back to school shopping...each boy gets a cart, and gets their list.  I wait patiently...we parade to the checkout.  DONE...

Another "Head butt" from that same sweet boy, threw his head back right into my temple...nice huh?

Momma needed dinner out...this boy was just busy running around

Summer has been busy haven't had Hinckley over much...had him over...played outside.  So fun, we missed him.  Big boys made a homemade slip n slide in the backyard.  Will add those pics later.

The eye just got worse and worse

 Worn out...

Thursday night... to check off the summer "Bucket List" Jack had....Chuck E Cheese with his good buddy Connor...and a sleepover.

Certainly don't agree with most of this cup....Chuck E Cheese is neither relaxing nor "fun" for me.  But the boys still love it...ALL of them

Messing around with the new Chuck E Cheese photo app.

Working on being a "YES" Mom, after Chuck E Cheese we stopped at Hyvee for sleepover snacks and I said "YES" to liters of pop exploding with Menthos in them.  Some seriously excited boys to make this mess.  Will came over to watch..

Pretty much what our bed looks like when Scott is out of town...Max and his "stuff" with a little room left for his Mama.

Guest Day at Des Moines Golf...Drew ended up bringing 2 friends...Tyler and Ty.  They had fun.  Tommy and Will played earlier in the day, I wasn't there to snap a picture of them.

Stopped at MOA on the way to the cabin Friday afternoon...Lego Store, Nike Store and Oakley store are the 3 favorites we always hit.

Saturday morning at the cabin...Max fell during a tantrum about the Wii...and cried basically from 9:30 am on...he wouldn't put his arm in his shirt, held his arm, screamed and cried off and on.  Finally at lunch I determined it was time to go to Urgent Care.  So off he and I went.  He catnapped in the car on the way there.

He was very sad in the waiting room, NOT wanting any pictures.
Then we met the Dr.  He determined it was "Nurse Maid's elbow" and basically it was dislocated.  He popped it back in and sent us for Xrays to be sure there wasn't a break...by the time we got to the Xray room 10 minutes later this was the boy I had.

Arm in shirt, laying on it, all smiles at the machine.  AT this point I KNEW it wasn't broken and that he would be just fine.

Sitting upside down in the chair waiting for the Dr to read the Xrays...I think we are JUST fine.

Back to the cabin to enjoy the day

Max went tubing with Tommy and Will

 Boatride...Max holding Jack's hand

 sound asleep in the boat

 tubing with the big boys

 Enjoying some MN  Root Beer

Fishing in the big lake with Jack and Drew, while Max napped on the floor

Dinner out for these two SOPHOMORES in high school  Eeegads

After dinner Jack and Drew took the fishing boat out.  You can see them way in the distance...love it.

 Catching some snuggles with Gma

 Jack waterskiing

 The two melt my heart

Trying to teach Mom "facetime" while she was sitting next to me.  We couldn't stop giggling

Evening snuggles with this boy, doesn't happen often but when it does we love it

Golfing with my Mom, these 3

Last trip to Nisswa for the summer

We decided to meet the golfers

 Drew waterskiing

Drew took this about 3 miles down the road from the cabin, OUT like a light

Rained the entire drive...but look at the beautiful rainbow.

Home on Wednesday...we are so grateful for the cabin and the many blessings and memories it gives.  What a true treasure.

  1. I so miss our cabin on the Gunflint Trail. I went ahead and told my parents to sell it quite a few years ago since it is over 10 hours from Naperville. It must be so wonderful to share such neat memories with your kids.

  3. Good job, yes mom! FYI for next time...Diet Coke works the best for the Mentos in soda experiment. Not joking. Ask Scientist Josh.
