We have made a decision to allow Jack to try Eason Elementary, in Waukee. It's our local elementary school. Drew and Tommy both went there before Des Moines Christian. It's BIG news around here.
The sweet boy has been praying since the beginning of the summer and asking to try it. He wants to see what's so different about a public school. He wants to meet new friends. He wants to be able to talk about God with people who maybe haven't heard. He wants to walk to school, or ride his bike. He has a heart for opening up his world more.
Our sweet Miss Emily was recently hired as the new school counselor at Des Moines Christian, which made us think he would for sure drop the "Waukee" school talk...but it didn't. As much as he LOVES Emily he feels like he should go to Eason.
So after much prayer on his part, and our part....we registered him at Eason last Friday morning.
I have a great sense of peace about the decision and we are excited to see what God has in store for Jack. It will be weird, selfishly for me...to be at a different school. Meet more new people, get in the routine of 2 schools, 2 districts...2 calendars...and not being with familiar teachers I know. While some I will remember from when Tommy and Drew were there LOTS has changed.
His school starts on August 15th, a week before Tommy and Drew. So the summer clock is REALLY ticking now....
Thanks for praying and please continue to do so.
