First moment I saw you Tommy....the emotion is captured as your little hand reaches out to touch mine (I still think this picture could win an award)
Today is Tommy's 12th birthday. Today has been a busy day, I cannot believe it has taken nearly the entire day before I had a chance to get this on the blog. Swim lessons this week, lunch out at Chuck E Cheese, golf with Dad, presents to open, Drew's All Star game and dinner out tonight, just now home...a whirlwind day.
A whole lot of you being as you were born...csection
Hard to believe our oldest is 12 today..born 7-7-97...a wonderful day. He came into this world at 10:01 am via planned csection, thanks to his creative positioning of being transverse breach which is basically diagonal with head in my ribs. A whopping 9lb 3 oz joy. It was a wonderful day, the oldest grandchild on the Shisler side and the first GrandSON on the Terwilliger side....he was prayed for and wanted so much. He hardly cried when he was born...and he hardly cried as a baby. He was the most laid back little guy. He loved to sleep and eat...he was relaxed. He didn't crawl until he was 14 months and walked about 2 weeks later. Tommy could sit in his exersaucer for 30 minutes at a time and be entertained, he would watch rain drops fall on the windows for hours, he had a red ball he could play with all day, napped for hours and hours, and would pick up any little piece of string or stray lint off the ground...he was and is a detail guy.
Our first day home...
Daddy was and is still so proud of you....our first day home
Tommy learned to tell time at an early age (4 yrs old)....which, for those of you who know him is no surprise, he LOVED to know what time things are happening and the agenda for it all. He is our planner, our detail guy, our question asker, our wonder man.
Tommy is as sweet as apple pie, he has a heart of gold and is a very sensitive, soft hearted kid. Don't get me wrong he is also fiercely competitive and likes to WIN at ALL cost. He is a wonderful combination of things...he loves to eat out, run errands, play video games, read the sports page, follow the latest ESPN info, is loyal to his teams, still loves to be read to, snuggled and even sung to on occasion. He sings in the shower, dances in front of the mirror and has one of the best smiles I have ever known.
It is a privilege and joy to be your Mom! I love having a front seat to watching you grow into a young man who is learning who he is, who is obsessed with sports, who loves God and who has a tender little heart.
You still LOVE basketballs...your new wave ball from Jack
You STILL love the Indians MLB team...Phiten necklace you wanted from Drew
Happy Birthday to our sweet boy, we love you Tommy!
