This morning I took Max into a new Dr., a specialist, to check on a possible hernia. (all is fine and he is healthy as can be) But here is my story and my "What a Guy" award....
As I was checking him in, filling out all the new patient paperwork, giving my insurance card etc...the receptionist shocked me. She said to me, does your husband work for Corn States, his name is on all the insurance cards of course (which is a division of Monsanto that he works for) I said "yes he does"...she then told me she would never forget the name Scott Shisler. She proceeded to tell me this story with TEARS in her EYES I will tell it in her words,

"Several years ago I was in Hyvee Gas and had a $100 bill in my pocket. I didn't realize that I had a hole in my pocket until later in the day. When I realized I had lost the money I panicked and went back to Hyvee Gas doubting the money would be there. When I told the cashier my story I was shocked, someone had turned it in. Hyvee had the man leave his business card in case no one ever came back for the $100. And Scott Shisler was the name on the card. At that time money was very tight and every dollar mattered and this $100 was a VERY big deal to me. I sent him a thank you note addressed to the Corn States address and every time I drive by that Hyvee Gas or the Corn States office building I think of Scott Shisler. I never thought I would meet him, or his family and now here you are. That was one of the nicest things ANYONE has ever done for me and I will never forget it or forget his name"
I responded with the comment that he was just doing the right thing, which he was...but I was so touched to hear that story and so proud to be married to such a man of integrity. I called Scott after the appointment, he is out of town, and he remembered the whole story and was kind of sad he wasn't there to meet her in person. You never know whose life you will touch.
I love you Scott Shisler!
Big tears in my eyes. What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it. Loved it.
