Happy First Birthday Max!

Today has been a special day, our baby turned 1 year old on 1-11-11.  Pretty cool huh?  Sweet Max turned 1 tonight at 8:34 pm.  Of course his day was winding down at that time but his brothers were certain to mark the moment he turned one.

The birthday started around midnight.  He woke up screaming and that continued off and on for about an hour and a half.  Finally, after not being able to console him to lay back down with me, or by himself or even nurse we came down and rocked in the big green chair.  We slept there until 5 or so.  Then headed back up to our big bed.  After taking him into the Dr this morning, Max has his first ear infection.  :(  The bad news, he is sick, the good news...I spent nearly every moment of his birthday with him.  :)  He was a happy baby much of the day.  Praying he sleeps well tonight.

Our day was filled with pancakes for breakfast, playing in the sunroom, a trip to his favorite Dr., Tommy being home for the day with us, mac n cheese for lunch, snuggling with Daddy this afternoon, playing ball with his brothers, Grandma and Poppy arriving for his big day, eating crackers with Poppy, snuggling with Grandma and then the big party.

His party consisted of our family, our good friend Gracelyn and her Mommy Makila, and of course our dear Miss Emily and Ross.  It was a nice quiet evening which was just right.  Max seemed to love having people around, and had fun with his new presents.  It was just right.

Oh sweet Max, how can it be that you are one already.  I remember the moment you arrived, down to the tiniest detail.  We love you so much and it feels like you have always been here in many ways.  You have been in my heart forever I know that.  I think every Mommy knows when they have children in their heart...and you were always in there.  I am so glad God chose me to be your Momma.  I adore you. Your brothers and your Dad do too.

You are so fun.  You have taken 2 steps, a couple of times, most of the time you like to just sit down and crawl.  You love to stand up on your own in the middle of a room.  You LOVE balls, you LOVE your ball pit, you LOVE to be where the action is.  You love pasta, mac n cheese, pizza, crackers, apples and bananas,  You love oatmeal for breakfast, and bananas for lunch, you love yogurt and ice cream and even cake.  You love chicken and peas, potatoes and corn and brownies and chips ahoy cookies for dessert.

You still love to sleep with us in our bed after about 4 am.  You love to nurse and have no desire to be done, and of course this Momma is in no hurry either.  You take 2 naps most days, but are flexible on that.  You have by far the least relaxed schedule of the bunch, you go with the flow.

You say Momma, Dada and often time we think we hear "DEWWWW" from you for Drew.  You beam when you see me, you reach out for your Daddy, you cry when he leaves the room.  You love your big brothers, you sparkle when you see them...you follow them and beg them to play with you.

We treasure you so much, your little every move,  we don't take a moment of you for granted.  You are special and sweet, and melt all of our hearts.

Happy Birthday sweet baby boy,

Love
Momma
