This afternoon, Scott took our friend Gailen to Des Moines Golf, to play 9 holes. They went with 2 other buddies, Chris and Steve. It was a beautiful fall day.
When we were taking pictures on Friday, Gailen commented to me on how pretty the course was this time of year. Scott had been looking for a reason to invite Gailen to golf and my sharing that with him was all he needed. He called Gailen and he agreed.
Not knowing how he would feel to golf, sometimes he does have some side pain now, he said he would give it a try. Well, they were blessed, Gailen golfed the entire round of 9 and felt great. It was a special day for all of them. As Gailen thanked Scott he said, "When this is all said and done, and God heals me...we are going to join here and play golf together all the time. " Scott couldn't agree more.
Please continue to pray for his healing as they head to Mayo tomorrow again for more tests.
My favorite part of the pictures of Scott and Gailen is them wearing their respective favorite team shirts...Ohio and Duke. :)
