Team Mary Lou Rally

Journal entry by Susan Shisler — 8/15/2016

After a long weekend with time to think, rest, absorb, research and pray we gathered back at Mayo today. We were able to get a follow up appointment with Mom's main doctor and revisit some of the conversation from last Friday.

Friday we learned this....

This last chemo did not control the cancer. This was something that was hard to hear. There is more cancer in Mom's liver than there was 2 months ago. Sigh. Gulp.

But we don't give up easily and so we have rallied the troops, puffy eyes and all and are looking into Plan J and K for mom. Pulling in some expertise from MD Anderson and Mayo combined. Today we met with Mayo and tomorrow a phone call with the head MD Anderson gyn oncology.

Here is our list of prayer requests...

1. That Mom would regain some strength and continue to get good rest.

2. That the option and path to go down would be the best choice for her body

3. That God would perform a miracle through these routes or just because he chooses to. ❤️

4. That we would be directed to the right Doctors and that insurance would be smooth and the right people would be in place.

We are thankful today for hope. We are thankful for each other. We are so grateful for the love we share as a family. We love because HE first loved us. HE fills us with love and hope.

And because we love pictures I'm attaching one from today. Tommy came along with me. He heads to college on Wednesday. Today we have filled him with advice, prayers and love. He is ready. Love that he wanted to come up today and spend one of his last summer days with his grandparents. That just shows how much they have poured into their grands. Later this week they will see Veda, Kale and Ariana. And of course Charlie and Alice. Their idea of a near perfect week. 6 of 9 grandchildren to hug and love.

We thank you for praying with all of your might. You are all so very loved by us. Thanks for giving us the space we need when we need it and for sending prayers in abundance when we ask.
