I know SO many of you are praying and want an update so here is a quick one for you.
Mom is laying low after the Immunotherapy treatment she received 10 days ago, no major side affects and nothing new to add. She is still tired, like she was with chemo. She continues to have struggles with some double vision but the Mayo Doctor does not think it is at all related to her cancer. Maybe just a side affect of her previous chemotherapies. So she is meeting with local eye doctors about that. I suggested Dad could read aloud to her, maybe some romantic poetry, she replied "NO Thanks". :)
She has been enjoying time with friends and family. Ariana visited last weekend with a friend and that was a special weekend for all. Mom lights up when any grandchild is near. Alice visits almost daily and bounds into the house screaming "Grandma, Grandma" like she hasn't seen her in weeks...which Mom adores. Charlie Eifrig, who is like a son to Mom and Dad, stopped in this week with his family from California and he always brightens Mom's day. As well as visits from her Benson Golden Girlfriends and of course breakfast with her long time "Bridge" group who has never once played bridge. (oops Mom just emailed me, they DID play bridge for the first 10 years, ahem 1974-84 maybe...I stand corrected. I NEVER saw cards out, just saying Mom...)
She and Dad are at the cabin now for a chunk of time, which is their favorite spot to be. She will get a large dose of 5 grandchildren this weekend over Labor Day... the best medicine around.
We go back to Mayo on September 8th and will have another round of this Immunotherapy then as well as a check up with our Dr there. Until then please pray that she continues to have few side affects and pray that her body is busy fighting this cancer. We are praying for a miracle! We trust God. His promises are true. The very best thing we can do for Mom is pray, pray, pray. So thank YOU for doing just that. With a grateful heart I say we love you all for caring so much.
