This Permit Happened

Yesterday morning Drew went to take his permit test.  In Iowa, you can get your driver's permit at 14 and take Driver's Ed…and then at 15 you can get your school permit to drive to and from school activities.  We had been putting off the permit, just didn't seem urgent.  But then we realized his best buddy Tyler is taking Driver's ed in Feb and March, which actually worked better in our schedule with a break between sports.  So in order to sign him up for that class he needed to get his permit.

…and he did.  On the first try!  Pretty exciting stuff around here.  A milestone.

and while the big boys are busy growing up and doing grown up stuff like permits, making movies for their brothers, driving around town…

this little one is just plain worn out.  He probably could still take a daily nap at 1:00 if I were that rigid.  I once was…but now I am not so much.  So he sleeps when he needs to and however and wherever

Wednesday afternoon feel asleep in car pick up line to get Jack.  Still asleep at 5:30 when it was time to wake up and eat dinner before Awana at church.  Sigh…didn't happen.  But at 10:15 pm he was quite chatty and friendly.  hmmm

Exhibit B

Last night Tommy had a JV game at North High school, about a 20 minute drive.  Yep fell asleep enroute and slept through much of the game.  Did wake up for a little concession Pick Me up and that was about it.  But he was in bed snoring at 10:15.
